“Betty, this is miracle running.  Woowee!  Could you have ever imagined my legs feeling this much better? ”
“I imagine it every day, Carina,” said Betty, smiling broadly.   “My dreams for you are finally coming true.”  Dear Carina, Betty's Dreams for You Come True

On this bright sunshiny morning, I took a walk with my dog to White Deer Park which boasts a natural meadow.  As we circled around, dragonflies zipped around us creating an ethereal atmosphere.

I began thinking about how much my life has changed since practicing PGSG.  Like the dragonflies who start out as little nymphs, I’m almost completely different from the old me.  Today, I feel calm, grateful, humble, and strong.  Before practicing PGSG, I suffered from anxiety, insomnia, and had no self-confidence.

My dog didn’t allow me to stay lost in my thoughts for long though.  She almost caught a dragonfly.  So, I slid back into the here and now as to insure that my little hunter wouldn’t eat the majestic creatures for a snack.  I gave my dog a chin scratch, looked up to the bright blue sky while seeing the dragonflies zip about out of the corners of my eyes; I felt peaceful and happy –calm.

The person I could be, who I’m becoming now, saved me from the old me.  PSGG, when practiced diligently, empowers you to be your own HERO.  Master Ou once lectured that he can't tell us each exactly how to master our lives.  I know what he meant now.  When you believe in yourself, live your life by the password and keep trying, the hero within calmly takes the reigns, leading you to happiness.   Perhaps this hero is our divine nature always there, waiting patiently?

There are blessings everywhere…messages everywhere.  Can you slow down and experience them?  Can you calmly experience life?  Do you believe that you can be your own hero?  Join me on Tuesday, July 26th at 6 pm for group practice and theory discussion of calm, in every situation.

Happy Fourth of July!  May your summer be full of: dragonflies, butterflies, black-eyed susans, crepe myrtles, pool days, beach days, corn on the cob, tomato sandwiches, grillin’ out, and lightening bug catchin’ –Oh and PGSG practice!
